Michel Schoonjans has a degree in physiotherapy and functional rehabilitation from the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) and has been an official physiotherapist since 1996. With more than 23 years of experience, he is able to treat all people suffering from musculoskeletal, respiratory, cardiovascular or psychomotor disorders. Michel Schoonjans has a very rich background in the field of physical therapy. Indeed, he has carried out several in-depth researches on the interest of coupling isokinetic testing and EMG in the context of patellofemoral syndrome. For the past 10 years, he has also been a member of the teaching staff at the ULB as an assistant in charge of exercises at the Institute of Motor Sciences, and at the HELB as a training supervisor. He also practiced at the osteoarticular center of the Antoine Depage Clinic where he gained the trust of several patients. With a master's degree in physical therapy and rehabilitation in 2012 at UCLouvain, I also trained in sports physical therapy, manual therapy and ortho-kinesis. I can help you to get rid of a crookedness problem or to perform electrotherapy, tecartherapy or lymphatic drainage. I also provide shockwave and ultrasound treatments. I work at the Sentier de la Chapelle 3 center located in Frasnes-Lez-Gosselies and at the HK Health Center located in Braine-L'Alleud. I have a Master's degree in physiotherapy and rehabilitation from the ULB with Great Distinction and I practice general physiotherapy. I am therefore able to provide you with care and to accompany you in your rehabilitation: orthopedic, geriatric, cardiological or neurological. For athletes, my experience in the field will also help you to return to competition in the best conditions. I am available at the office on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8am to 4pm and on Saturdays from 10am to 2pm. Passionate about perinatality and gynecology, I mainly consult for future and young mothers as well as for pathologies of the pelvic sphere, in particular endometriosis, a subject in which I am very involved with awareness and research projects. I also practice physical therapy for musculoskeletal disorders (sprains, fractures, post-operation, low back pain, neck pain, tendinopathy...) and I am specialized in the treatment of runners. In parallel to the Mimosa Center, I work at the Molière-Longchamp hospital in the orthopedic outpatient department as well as in the Therapeos practice dedicated to women (childbirth preparation, pregnancy-related pain, post-natal rehabilitation, pain and perineal disorders, sports support). J'interviens dans la prise en charge des pathologies musculo-squelettiques, orthopédiques et traumatologiques, qu'il s'agisse de douleurs lombaires et cervicales, d'entorses, de pathologies de l'épaule et du genou, de rééducation post-opératoire ou encore de troubles touchant le poignet et la main.

Mon expérience me permet également d'accompagner les patients atteints de pathologies rhumatismales telles que la spondylarthrite ankylosante, la polyarthrite rhumatoïde ou la fibromyalgie, ainsi que ceux souffrant d'affections neurologiques, notamment la sclérose en plaques, la maladie de Parkinson, les suites d'AVC, la myasthénie, la maladie de Huntington ou encore les polyneuropathies. Je prends également en charge les troubles respiratoires, aussi bien chez l'adulte que chez l'enfant.

En complément de ces domaines, je me suis formée et spécialisée dans le traitement des lymphœdèmes ainsi que dans la prise en charge des cervicalgies et des troubles de l'articulation temporo-mandibulaire (ATM). Ma formation en kinésithérapie HMTC me permet d'intervenir sur des problématiques telles que les migraines, céphalées, vertiges, acouphènes, algies de la face et perturbations maxillo-faciales.
