Jean Goubau

Studies

• Jean Goubau studeerde geneeskunde aan de Universiteit te Gent en behaalde zijn diploma in 1991. Tijdens en na zijn opleiding als orthopedisch chirurg was hij gedurende 2 jaar werkzaam als assistent in de dienst S.O.S Mains van Prof. Allieu te Montpellier (Frankrijk) en tevens als research fellow aan de Mayo Clinic in Rochester (Minnesota - USA)
• In september 2009 startte Dr. Goubau als staflid in het UZ te Brussel. Aan de VUB behaalde hij in september de graad van Doctor in Philosophy (PhD) met als onderwerp: "The Failing trapeziometacarpal joint: from joint saving surgery to the consequences of its replacement".

Professional experience

• Since 1998, Prof. Goubau is active at the AZ St Jan in Bruges, where he founded the hand center (SOS Main - Hand Trauma Center) with the Orthopedics and Plastic Surgery department. In September 2009, Dr. Goubau as a staff member at the University Hospital
• In september 2009 startte Dr. Goubau als staflid in het UZ te Brussel waar hij handchirurgie terug op de kaart zette.
