Clinical psychologist (UCLouvain), registered with the “Commission des Psychologues” and holder of the Visa authorising the exercise of the profession of clinical psychologist, I am also trained in systemic (family) psychotherapy. I speak English as well.
I incorporate mindfulness to accompany you, if that makes sense. A holistic approach is important, as our different elements of life have an impact on our well-being. I also practice EMDR. Having been an expatriate myself in several countries, having experienced these moments of transition and adaptation, I also welcome you in this dimension. - Why to consult? Why a person trained in systemic psychotherapy? o If you feel blocked, stuck in certain aspects of your life; to take the time to step back and lead your life in accordance with your values. o To make sense of your life events, to see them more clearly in moments of upheaval. o If you are worried about someone close to you, or if the difficulty has an impact on several people. o In times of stress, overload, emotional exhaustion o To better live through moments of transition o To address the challenges and resources of expatriation, whether it be in its aspect of transition, cultural adaptation, and this at the individual or family level. o Fo questions related to parenthood - Together, we will approach the symptom - what drives you to consult - as a messenger that is there to tell you something. The work I propose is to understand the function, the meaning, the reason for this symptom and, from there, to look for other ways, which are not so painful or costly, to respond. - Thanks to positive psychology, we will look for your strengths, because your strengths are resources at your disposal to respond, to face your challenges. - I offer you a caring, supportive and non-judgmental way of listening - individually, as a couple or as a family - welcoming what each person brings to the table, in order to bring out a sense of meaning that allows each person to move forward. - I have worked in Belgium and have been an expatriate in several countries, so I can welcome these often rich and sometimes challenging experiences of transition, adaptation, stress and different cultural sensitivities. The concept of 'children of the third culture' is useful to understand these life experiences. I propose the first meeting as a way to get to know you, to clarify together your request and to propose a way of working together
