Hello and welcome! I'd like to tell you a bit more about myself....
I work with adults as young adults (+25). Therapy aims to bring about an improvement in cognitive, emotional and/or psychological well-being. Besides the classical frames of reference (cognitive behavioural, psychoanalysis and systems therapy), we also look at complementary themes (nutrition, lifestyle, etc.) that can broaden or change our outlook, maximising the chances of improved well-being.
I graduated from the Free University of Brussels, Master in clinical neuropsychology (2017) where I obtained a distinction. After this, I continued my studies at the Universidad Catolicá de San Pablo, in Bolivia, and focused on expanding my theoretical framework by applying myself to systems therapy, focusing on the underlying togetherness of relationships and their dynamic structures. The focus on recognising problems as part of a bigger picture resonated for me as a therapist.
In my later studies, I came into contact with somewhat alternative forms of therapy delivery, including movement theatre, creative therapy and a holistic approach as a way of approaching and exploring problems and solutions.
Starting from a basis in the clinical sector, I gradually also immersed myself in the latter methodologies; I learned to make links between various 'new age' and classical body-oriented movements from the East, with the more narrative and dialectical approaches from the West. Even within psychoanalysis, I saw patterns that could be linked to the old traditions.
Today, I do not attach so much importance to which method is used, but rather that it can be done in an honest, transparent and reciprocal way, where respect for each other, reverence and acknowledgement of the client's life story are paramount. A person-to-person conversation, with here and there the possibility of stepping into the unknown and making way for the mysterious or that which transcends the mental field. Both client and therapist search together for a form that best lends itself according to the situation or reason for application; Each with their own expertise and own abilities, according to the moment.

"In-person sessions are often held in person or online and broken down into a two-part process. Because sessions can take many different forms, each healing is unique to each person/moment. Part one usually explores the energy that is about to unfold from within and ready to emerge, through conscious verbalisation and conversation.
In part two, you are guided to lie down on the healing table, where you can relax, receive healing and return to yourself. When the energy inside is ready to realign, many e-motions and thoughts can arise.
While one session may lead you to release unpleasant thought patterns through conscious processing, another will guide you through exploratory exercises, visualisations, physical movements, guided energy meditations and/or verbalisations.
Most importantly, you will be supported to express yourself fully and completely. Lycia will keep a safe container for you that prioritises your needs and respects your own unique rhythms."
Would you like to contact me for an initial meeting? Then please fill out the application form with a brief description in the application for the reason and desire to meet with me.
Greetings!
Lycia
