Je suis psychologue clinicienne, diplômée d’un Master en sciences psychologiques, à finalité spécialisée en psychologie clinique, obtenu à l’Université Catholique de Louvain. Je suis agréée par la Commission des Psychologues. J’accompagne les adolescents et les adultes en cabinet et en visioconsultation.

Je suis psychologue clinicien et psychothérapeute, spécialisé dans l’accompagnement des adultes faisant face à des difficultés émotionnelles, relationnelles ou liées à des événements de vie marquants.

Ma pratique repose principalement sur deux approches complémentaires :

• Les thérapies cognitivo-comportementales (TCC), qui visent à identifier et transformer les pensées et comportements sources de souffrance.
• La thérapie EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), particulièrement indiquée dans le traitement des traumatismes, du stress post-traumatique et de certaines formes de dépression.

J’accueille principalement une population adulte, mais je reste ouvert à d’autres publics lorsque la demande s’inscrit dans mes compétences cliniques. Mon approche se veut bienveillante, collaborative et centrée sur les besoins du patient, afin de favoriser un cheminement vers plus de bien-être et d’autonomie.

Systemic therapy teaches us that the symptom "says something" to members of the community (often the family and/or the social-professional milieu) in terms of changing relationships. When did the symptoms emerge? What was happening at that time in the environment, the relational context? What new events have disrupted the balance? The therapy will therefore be interested in present and past relationships in order to understand what, if anything, is being replayed in terms of adjusting emotional distances, affects that have been "affected" and that have triggered the appearance of difficulties, of "ill-being". Offering a guarantee of professional listening equipped by university training and experience is certainly important and primordial, it is the necessary condition for therapy, but in my opinion it is not sufficient. To offer a secure framework by creating a climate of confidence where the humanity which is in each one of us finds its rightful place, such is the state of mind of the consultation. A warm welcome, benevolence, kindness, empathy, non-judgment and unconditional respect for the patient's "experiences" while adopting an unconditional positive attitude towards the person, who he is, are the key words and milestones that must order the "patient-therapist" encounter.

A psychologist by training, I began training in hippotherapy and animal mediation at the beginning of my master's degree. During my studies I was particularly interested in issues such as harassment, palliative care, parenthood and disability. I continue to educate myself in these different areas through various trainings. I work in a therapy center from Monday to Saturday in Chaumont-Gistoux and in parallel I participate in the implementation and supervision of the pedagogical project of the Asbl Rire et grandir which welcomes children from 0 to 5 years old. Different issues can be worked on during therapy sessions: -disability -burn-out -palliative care -support in the face of illness -mourning support -harassment -personal development

Psychologue clinicienne, je partage mon temps entre la liaison en milieu hospitalier et mon activité indépendante au Centre l'Ecrin. Actuellement en cours de formation au troisième cycle en psychothérapie à l'UCLouvain.

Je propose des consultations individuelles pour les adultes (> 18 ans) dans un espace bienveillant et sans jugement. Mon approche se base sur une compréhension profonde de vos besoins, en adaptant chaque séance à votre rythme, vos objectifs et vos émotions du moment.

Les thématiques abordées lors des entretiens sont diverses et variées : gestion émotionnelle, difficultés relationnelles, symptomatologie anxiodépressive, addictions, affections psychosomatiques...

Monique Defurnaux is a clinical psychologist and is currently training in humanistic psychotherapy. She welcomes you on Mondays and Fridays from 4:30 to 8:30 pm at the Centre médical Corps-Santé, Gembloux. She listens to her patients and will take care of each case with interest and benevolence.
