My name is Véronique Cappeliez, I am 39 years old, I am a psychologist, married, and mother of 4 children. I started my consultations in 2014, after obtaining my degree in psychology and educational science at the Catholic University of Louvain in 2012, in the specialties of cognitive-behavioral psychology (which wants to understand our behavior) and neuropsychology (which studies the brain, its wonders, its deficiencies, etc.). Since my diploma, I have supported several people in the diagnosis of dementia, as well as those around them (because we must not neglect close caregivers who are also going through this difficult time), trying to find with them the means to adapt. to the progression of the disease, while continuing to live peacefully. I have also organized occupational workshops in nursing homes, to bring art therapy to these end-of-life journeys. With the discovery of my own married life, I also trained in systemics, to understand the links and family systems that build us, then in sexology and couple problems, which allowed me to support couples to cross certain milestones in a life together. Becoming a mother pushed me to study child psychology, their development, their psychomotor skills. I also deepened my knowledge in child neuropsychology, in order to diagnose certain disorders, assess IQ to obtain speech therapy help, and support so-called “different” children, but for me, unique 😉. With the year 2020 which turned the whole world upside down with its covid, and for my part, the birth of my 4th child, I obtained a certificate in Parental Burn out, because I saw many couples and parents around me in the midst of difficulties in their lives, and I wanted to be able to have new tools to help them get through this stage. My professional journey leads me to meet people, to enter into their lives, to understand their suffering, to try to find its origin, then to develop solutions in order to initiate a change, to find their fulfillment. Life is a path on which encounters, pitfalls, sorrows come to jostle us and upset us, sometimes from the beginning of our life, sometimes along the way, and often without us being able to thwart it. I regularly try to train myself and deepen my knowledge in order to have multiple tools to listen, support and help people who confide their problem(s) to me. I am here to help through a temporary difficulty, a change to make, a personal observation to digest, a mourning to soothe... During my consultations, I offer individual, couple, family sessions, during the day or in the evening; I try to welcome you into a peaceful place that I have set up myself, to take the time to talk, to be yourself, to think and reflect; the sessions are teamwork, moments of sharing and kindness to heal what is weighing on your mind, in order to emerge with solutions and new objectives.
