Clinical psychologist specializing in neuropsychology, graduated from the Catholic University of Louvain-la-Neuve, approved by the Commission of Psychologists and passionate about the cognitive development of children and adolescents.
My field of intervention covers difficulties in the school environment, attentional difficulties, hyperactivity (suspicion of an attention disorder with/without hyperactivity (ADD/HD)), memory, and organization. Questions relating to intellectual development (suspicion of delay or high intellectual potential) as well as emotional and relational difficulties ("excesses", opposition, impulsivity)
The first session, at my home, is dedicated to the anamnesis which involves an in-depth discussion with the child and his parents to understand the request, to get to know the child, his life context and his specific needs.
Then, I carry out various types of assessments on children to better understand their cognitive strengths and weaknesses based on the request and the difficulties expressed during our first interview (this step may require between 2 and 3 sessions).
-- A little word for the children: an evaluation at home has nothing to do with an evaluation at school. You don't have to prepare, revise or study anything! It will be a short course of exercises that are different from each other for which I just ask that you do the best you can. --
Finally, the last session is dedicated to the restitution of the conclusions, during which I share the results of the evaluations and explain the implications of the difficulties observed in learning and daily life. Adapted neuropsychological treatment can be offered if necessary.
My main objective in terms of care is to offer psychoeducation sessions to my patients and their loved ones, thus providing the necessary information for a better understanding of the young person's disorder/difficulties and behaviors. I pay particular attention to all the important actors in the lives of these young people, offering personalized advice at their request and context.
Trained to support children and parents of children with attentional/executive, learning and behavioral difficulties, I offer support which aims to improve the quality of life, by offering a whole series adaptations (reasonable adjustments) and strategies to overcome the difficulties detected during the assessment.
I also carry out these various assessments and follow-ups in English.
