  • Hello,
The type of specialist to consult for a bump under the foot is generally a podiatrist (foot specialist) or an orthopedic surgeon specialized in foot and ankle. They can examine the area, confirm whether it is a plantar fibroma or another condition (such as a cyst or callus), and propose the most suitable treatment.
In the meantime, avoid excessive pressure on the area by using cushioned insoles or pads, and monitor for any changes in size, pain, or redness.

  • Bonjour,

  • Hello, You should see a podiatrist (foot specialist) or an orthopedic doctor specializing in foot and ankle conditions. A dermatologist may also be helpful if there are concerns about skin-related issues.

A podiatrist is often the best first step since they specialize in foot conditions like plantar fibromas. They can assess the lump, recommend imaging (such as an ultrasound or MRI if needed), and suggest treatment options ranging from observation to physical therapy, orthotics, or in some cases, surgery.

If the lump is painful or growing, it’s best to consult a doctor as soon as possible to confirm the diagnosis and rule ou

  • Good morning, as Google is not always very... accurate, I suggest you to visit a generalist or a dermatologist or a podiatrist or an orthopedist. Your choice and if the first one is not the know that can treat the problem, he should be able to recommend you the right specialist.
    Have a nice day

  • Hello, in the case of plantar pathology, the best way to know what is happening is to do an ultrasound. You can first go to your osteopath for opinion.

    Best regards.

  • Hello. You could see either a general doctor or a sports doctor (médecin de sport). Both can prescribe un ultrasound which is most probably the most convenient exam in this case.
The sports doctor could also examine the foot/ankle (which is not the specialty of a general doctor).

  • Hello,

I would first ask the opinion of my GP who will send you if necessary to an orthopedist or a dermatologist or maybe just a podiatrist.
The GP to start with is a good thing.
Have a good evening and I hope I was able to help you. Sincerely.
